I've never had a prob with my 4 by....I've got hedman long tubes on it with the ceramic coating. I suppose if you get'em hot as hell and throw a buncha water on'em they might but I think if you buy good quality headers you shouldnt have a prob.

I dont think powder coating works on headers...I could be wrong but I've never seen it done. Ceramic usually works best.

alright thanks man. I still have a rear diff to do a ring and pinion in before I can worry about anything else right now. But the exahust comes out of the Y pipe then in to about a 4 foot long 3" straight pipe after the cat. Sounds ok but its on there whith the clamps and it doesnt even hold it in there tight. I have a buddy with a welder so we are just going to custom build the exhaust

better to just spend the extra to get the cerami-coated headers...I had them on my 4x4 and I spent good times in the mud and most of the time it was in watery mud and the gas pedal on the floor...never had a header issue in 10 years...

Most of the ceramic coated headers are not cheap...mine were 280 I think (headman long tubes). I lovem, no complaints bout them yet.

Another header question, being on the low buck side, My f150 is 4x4 and has the 302 in it, will any long tube 302 header work for it or do I have to look for an f150 4x4 specific long tube header?
