Default Head light assembly

hey guys im having some issues getting my head light assemblies out of my truck i want to get some new ones but im not sure how to take out the old ones. once you rake the grill and battery out on the drivers side theres 2 screws in the top of the chrome frame around the headlights but thats the only 2 screws i see besides the one headlight adjustment screw and ive turned and turned it all it did was move the headlight back and forth. any ideas on how to get the things out?????

when i put in new headlights i coundnt get the tabs on the back to release so i knocked the front apart with a hammer, and picked up the parts i needed when they hit the ground.

Screws are on the engine side, beside a battery (need to remove battery stand to get access), and screws for left headlight are beside washer/coolant reservoir (you may want to remove it for better access). There may be some more screws I jost don't remember, but these 2 will be enough to get headlights moving. They should have 10mm heads, if I remember it right.

my 92 and 95 had little slide on u-shaped clips where you pushed the headlight in then slid the clip in the groove. but they get rusted and locked on tight. the only other way i seen to get them out was to remove the whole plastic part that goes across the whole core support.

but a hammer was the fastest way, but i had new headlights to put in and was not worried about the old ones, trash anyways.

Like guy above me said, remove the plastic core support, especially if youre doing both headlights. You wont have to remove the battery or anything else behind it. It helps to have a friend help remove and reinstall it as its kind of awkward. it seemed to be way easier when it came to putting those headlight assembly clips back on, as opposed to effing with it in the truck

Do yourself a favor & get those metal clips before you remove the old ones, Good chance they are real rusty & may brake when removed.. I am still waiting for my new clips... Live & learn Right?

i was looking at mine yesterday and i saw the metal clips but on mine theres a small dolt that runs from the front of the headlight assembly through the middle of the clip. i cant get to the head of the bolt in order to take it out...ever seen anything like that. these headlights are becoming more and more of a pain in my haha but I'll keep looking at it and see what i can do. when i figure it out I'll let you guys know what it was. thanks for the help guys

There not realy bolts, they lock into the metal clips.. You have to remove the metal clips to get the assembly out, ( Think three Per side ) You may have to break those metal clips..
