Question Having problems looking for some answers?

First off gotta say this place is very helpful!!!

i have the 4.9 i6 efi and when she gets hot she dont wanna start back, at high rpm's it starts to miss real bad. if ya shoot it with a bit of ether she will fire right up.

i know people say ether is bad on motors and will eat pistons up. not to sound like a ***** but ya i know what it does i have had plenty people tell me but my job depends on my truck lol

i have put plugs wires rotor button air filter and dist cap on it and she still does it. holds great oil pressure and doesnt run hot. i cant figure it out.

truck has 253000 on it. could it be a throttle body?

Check fuel pressure...and pull codes. Could be gettin starved for fuel.

I would definately pull codes and check fuel pressure, too. Maybe check the coilout too. I used to have an old lawnmower that quit running when it got hot and turned out to be a bad coil. I know it's not the same animal, but hey, I have seen some strange things happen before. A little seafoam in the tank may help too. Injectors may be getting kinda dirty.

Hey guys, thanks i ended up pulling the codes and got the crank position sensor purchased that and the bolt had just backed out of the block tightened her up erased the codes and she is good. then i got p171 and 174 which were lean codes for high low fuel pressure or o2 sensor/ maf.

autozone wanted $175 deposit to go in the parkin lot and use a fuel pressure tester when they seen my truck die and not start back... yea like i was gonna run off with it, found a close friend who has a shop to do it and i didnt even budge the gauge..lol

put a fuel pump and a fuel filter on it and i swear hand on the bible she runs better than when i bought her.

the lock ring on the fuel pump is hard to get on without pinching the gasket and i pinched it lol , so now i have a fuel leak not big but at 3.50 a gallon i would really like to get it fixed. does anyone know if gas would eat up rtv silicone really dont feel like dropping the tank

Great news that you got her up and running, but I most definitely wouldn't chance using Silicone around your fuel system, I'm pretty sure gas would eat at it.
