Default governer

I have a 1995 f150. It's a 302 and 5 speed. Does it have a governer?

Lucky you, I was just on the phone with my brother who happens to have a 95 5.0 Mustang w/5 speed. I asked him if the 95 5.0 had a governor, he said "Yep, lifting my right foot or 140 MPH, which ever comes first." So I'm gonna go with no, there is no governor lol.

If you mean a speed limiter or rev limiter than yes it does. Or atleast im pretty sure it does since i thought the mustang 302 did.

Well my truck when I have the speedo pegged and keep going the truck falls on its face and stops gaining speed

Ya thats the speed limiter which i dont think goes higher than 95mph, and if you red line the engine ( not recommended) it should bounce back and forth on the tach.

It only got too 4000 rpm

Yup they don't go far on these but thats as high as you will ever need to go, i think the mustang 302 were about the same.

Probably screaming for help! I dont know what the exact limit is on a 302 but on a 300 its about 4200. I dont even like going over 3800 with mine

I think the red line is 5200 and the HP curve is at 4800
