Default got a crazy idea...

ive got a 90 f-150 4x4 5.0 with some bottom end noise. im a mustang man, and have access to H.O. 5.0's, so i was curious if the 5.0 trucks and the 5.8 trucks have the same pin-out on the harness where it plugs onto the ECM? if so, would it be possible to use throw a H.O. motor in the truck and use a 5.8 computer since it would have the same firing order?

well i figured there would be some subtle differences in the program between the W and the 5.0, timing, fuel curve... but it shouldnt amount to much... should it?

another idea (if the pin-out is the same) is to use a mustang density computer.

Your just full of em today! Usually the ECU should tag along w/ the Engine. The HO's have a different firing order than their non-HO brothers. Also a more aggressive timing curve (that parts a good thing).

My '90 5.0 and 5.8 wiring diagrams are identical.
