Default gearing for 35s+

heyy guys im looking into buying some 35s, one concern is gearing, I know no one has changed my gearing on the truck so i think stock is 3.10? how will this do with 35s or 36s. *i have 33s on it now*

-also is there any other reccomended changes you guys suggest for 35s?

-do you think i could fit 36s? *reasonably*

What is the axle code? it should be on the inside of the driver side door jam... it should be on a little sticker that says the vin, paint code, year, factory tire size, etc.

your gear ratio right now is a 3.55 limited slip differential.... thats if someone hasn't already changed them.... my truck has 3.55 gears with 33/12.50s and thats about the biggest tire i would go with a 3.55 gear ratio, but my truck is a 4.9 I6 motor.... i'm not very familiar with the 5.0s, but if i was going to go with the tire size that your wanting to go with, i'd go with 3.73s with a 35 inch tire, and 4.10s with anything bigger.... someone else may have better info on it

You can check the tag bolted to the rear differential cover, it has the ratio on it. The first 3 numbers are the ratio.... sometimes the first number on it is covered up by the bolt, but sometimes it isn't.... if the gears haven't been changed, the tag on the rear differential cover will say 3L55, for the first three numbers (the L is Limited Slip)

if you regear dont do 3.73s its pretty much a waste of money imo. doesnt change much at all. id do 4.10s minimum. i have 3.55s in my truck with 35s and if i ever regear itll actually b to 4.56s
