Default Gas.

Odd question, but I used the search and coudn't find anything.

What gas stations would be recommended to use or to stay away from?

I fueled up yesterday at a 76 station in Bellingham, WA. Cost me about $120 US($114 CAD) for 30.84 gallons. Same amount here in Canada usually costs me about $150 CAD. But on average I wouldn't be running my truck that empty, usually every fill is about 26 gallons between the two tanks. And that would be about $102 US($97.50 CAD) at the currency conversion rate and fuel price of $3.89/gal I had yesterday.

Btw: i put about 86 miles(140 kms) on my truck since on the rear tank and the gauge shows just under 7/8 now, so it seems to be about the same quality as what I usually get here in Canada. And in everyday city driving I average 18-20 mpg(7-8kms/litre) in my 91 S-cab longbox 2wd 5.0 E4OD.

Lol! I'm always surprised by my mpg as well, considering when I got the truck it was getting 8-10mpg. Only difference is the truck seems quieter and has a little less power. But milage so far seems about right. Some co-workers of mine said to stay away from Arco even though their price is on average $0.15 cheaper a gallon. They usually go to a Texaco just 2 minutes past the border....

We're on it right now! Lol! I replaced a lot of parts since buying it. Like water pump, positive/negative and all ground wires, regapped spark plugs properly, they're Champion Copper plugs that came with it. Set timing properly, put spark plug wire seperators on them. Keep my tires inflated to proper spec on the sidewall, not what it says on my doorjam sticker. Replaced my exhaust with 2.5" piping after the cats and still using the factory exit still. Driving style seems to matter not as much, at least with my truck. Co-workers I give a ride to nearest train station say I drive like a maniac. Lmao!

I did the timing bump everyone talks about...should probably get some new separators for the wires....only one stock one left when I bought it. I've replaced the fuel filter. And the pump assembly in the side/front tank. Did the exhaust help with the mpg? Im gonna be driving about 3000 miles to get back home in a few months maybe....need the best mpg I can get out of my truck.
