For the rear pump yes way easier, but the front tank is fairly easy to get access too.

yes the bed is "easier" i guess? iv always just removed the tank, less hassle, atleast if your tank is nearly empty, or you drain it.

Yeah, when I change my transmission I like to remove the cab. Much easier.

I'm new to F150s, but not to wrenching on my own vehicles...and I have the same problem with my front tank.

If the decision is between DIY and having someone else do it, at least consider buying a Haynes manual, or checking one out at the library. As someone else mentioned in another post, about 90% of the time it's the pump...but the manual gives you the testing procedure to help you determine if the pump is actually the culprit. Plus, if it IS the pump, you then have the steps on how to change it.

For about $20 on Amazon, I have one for all of my vehicles that are out of warranty. None of them (Haynes or Chilton) are perfect, but it's better than flying blind...

You need to check it out to make sure it the pump and not a voltage to the pump problem. It's bad to replace the pump and it still not run.
