Default Fuel Pump

So after 18 years and over 260,000 miles, the rear fuel pump finally gave up. What is a good reliable brand? I know Delphi makes good pumps, I also know there are some others out there that people have give up on them a few months after putting in (or sooner). What other good, reliable brands have any of you used? experience? Price?
At least the front one is still running strong with no signs of giving up, but being its the same age, and probably used more than the rear, I imagine its not far behind.

Since you have a lot of miles on your truck, I would be inclined to buy the least expensive I could find. However, places like autozone and O'rielly's have lifetime warranty parts and I always figure they wouldn't give them this unless they don't expect to have them returned. Just make sure your name and vehicle is in their computer when you buy. I would also check out on ebay for something a little cheaper or maybe even a used pump. Since your truck has two pumps, you won't get stranded if one fails and you could save yourself $100 dollars. Like I mentioned earlier, if it was me, I would take a chance that most anything will last as long as I would own your truck.

Good Luck

whatever brand you get, make sure to buy the whole drop in unit with pump and sending unit. In my experience the old sending unit would fail shortly after when only replacing the pump.

$36.00 from Global Automotive on ebay. Pump, strainer, and plastic case, I just cleaned and adjusted the sender, works great.

Post your results and where you got it. I have a sending unit out in one tank and a pump out in the other

I got one for the old Escort ZX2 at autopartswarehouse for 130 and put 60,000 on it no issues. For my f150 I just put in a Ford unit I got a year ago for 320 from Rockauto.com. Last year i got one from Advance Auto for 125 and it died in 10 months.
