Default Fuel problem

i own a 1996 f150, with the I6 in it. i got it from a friend who got it impounded and he said i could have the truck if i got it out of impound. so a truck for 150 bucks sounded good. well the whole reason the truck got impounded was because it stalled and never started back up. a month before the truck would randomly stall, and you would have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes and it will start back up. then about a day later it would stall again but this time wont fire up untill about 20 to 30 minutes, it just kept getting longer each time untill it eventually never fired back up.

the problem is, is that when you turn the key it just cranks and cranks but never actually turns over or even attempts to fire up.

he told me that he has replaced (recently in the past month or so)
*both fuel pumps (its a duel tank)
*fuel filter
*ignition coil or whatever it is

we come to the conclusion that it has to do something with the fuel because i bought some carb cleaner and sprayed it into the intake and when i went to turn it over it attempted to hessitate to start but never started.

i was reading up on other sites and i came accross something about a (fuel pump shut off switch) and i was wondering if that could be it. and i dont have my owners manual so i dont know the location of the switch to reset it.

also i was told it could be the fuel pressure regulator. i read up on another site that 96 f150s have a tendancy for those to go bad.

sorry about the long post, just givin you all the information i can so its easier for advice. any help would be appriciated.

if you think its fuel then you need to put a pressure gauge on it and see what pressure you have when you turn the key on. it tells you how in the manual.

My Bronco II's Fuel shutoff reset was located in the glove compartment, I just got my f150 recently, and come to think of it havent checked if its the same spot, So it may not be.
