Default Front tank doesnt work

Is this a relatively simple problem most of the time? Easy fix? Expensive?

Do you hear it humming when you turn on the key before starting?

Its almost always the pump gone bad, but check that first and start from there.

If you do hear it, I'd check for fuel pressure next and see what that pump is reading.

if it is the fuel pump its pretty straight forward and i dont know what you consider cheap but the pump is only like 130 bucks. just drop the tank and swap pumps, thats if ofcourse your pump is actually bad.

Please state year and engine size. (Add to your profile and/or make a signature).
The pre '90 system is way different than later years.
I have some info on fuel system - link in my signature.

Now we know there is power to the pump, so I would check pressure next on the fuel rail, you should be getting between 50-60psi
