I'm going to do 4.10 anyway. Thanks for the info. I know legally I can't tow more than set by the factory, but I can legally tow the same weight better. And I can sneak more lol. My dad tows 16k plus sometimes with a truck rated at 12.5 k. I know if you wreck your screwed, but you just drive different when towing that weight, can't be dumb. But things happen because you aren't the only one on the roads, and other people are stupid, I get that. But if I were going to tow over the trucks capacities regularly, I would get a bigger truck. I would tow over 7500 lbs maybe 4 times a year. I do tow 6-7 kinda regularly though. Mostly 2-4
You get checked when you attract attention to yourself. If you don't seem to know what your doing. My dad would tow a 37 ft fifth wheel with a 22 ft pontoon boat on the fifth wheel. For non commercial use in Alabama, you can leaf ally tow two trailers if they 1. Don't exceed your trucks capacities. 2. The first trailer is a fifth wheel hook up. 3. Load isn't over 65 feet. Two of those three requirements, he didn't meet lol. But never got pulled over, even driving by troopers. Two of my dads trooper friends said most don't know those laws, so they don't bother if you look ok.
