Here are some transmission pan diagrams. Also the C6 is a 3 speed and the AOD is a 4 speed. If you have the OD button on the Gear Shift then I'd guess its an AOD-E / 4R70W.

I dunno, you need to get a code scanner or take it to a major auto parts store (i.e. Autozone, Advance Auto, etc.) and get them to run a code scan to see if your truck is throwing any trouble codes. Thats where I would start.

Hmmm, yea they can still check it. I would think that if the OD light is flashing then some type of trouble code would be recorded in the computer. Maybe try doing a search on GOOGLE about it. Sorry I can't help you anymore then that bud. Its hard to troubleshoot over the internet, haha.

The check engine light doesn't have to be on for there to be codes in there. You don't need a scanner to check the codes on that, you can use a paper clip or piece of wire.

I knew about that trick on my old Mustang but didn't know that it would work on his truck. Yea isn't it something like a "Hard" code will sit off the CEL, but a "Soft" code will just be stored.

--Ok just found this by doing a GOOGLE search.

Something like that. KOEO codes are detected at the time of the test, continuous codes are failures which occured over the last 40-80 driving cycles. Then there is an engine running test to detect faults while running.
