We're not arguing, we're just having a hard time agreeing! Does the engine in question w/ HO firing order and roller cam, have MAF? You've yet to post the year or engine size of the donor explorer! That leaves a lot of room for unnecessary discourse. Info like that, makes it a lot easier to compare notes! In transitional years, sometimes that doesn't even help.

i think our discussion evolved from here, i wanted to clairify that i WASNT saying explorer motors were H.O., just saying they had the H.O. firing order as below.

and yes, i know all 5.0 explorers were mass air, maybe that IS the connection between a 5.0 having the std or H.O. firing order, i just found it interesting that just beacuse a 5.0 does use the H.O. firing order it DOESNT nescessary make it an H.O. motor.

I know I feel better already, now that we got that out of the way! (The argument that really wasn't). Is this one MAF? If it's not, then I might argue on the explorer engines behalf! Although $300. is a cheap date fore a good motor. If your talking Mustang 5.0L Coupe, I think that's "Jackpot"!

yeah, it is a MAF motor from a mustang coupe... i wanted the explorer, since it was a 1996 (true gt40 heads, not "P's") and i could have got the whole thing for $600.00, i could have parted it out and cleared the motor for free! BUT, the seller is about 2 hrs away, and he said the rad was busted so he put a 6 cyl rad in and it wouldnt say cool, that had me nervous. so im happy with the mustang motor.

You'll like the timing curve. Even more so if you do this:http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/show...ht=timing+bump

that a very good write up! but, my truck is just coalmine transportation, im looking for longevity, but it WILL be getting abused on a daily basis. i dropped $180.00 at autozone last night on all new outer gaskets, rear main seal, timing set, oil pump, ect to make sure it will last a long time but, i put all the "extra" cash into my mustang.
