Default Exhaust

I've got the 302. How can I straight pipe it or at least make it loud as hell without screwing up the engine and lifters.

Wat year and do you have to go through emissions? Just the other day I cut my mufffler off and knocked out a cat, it's still pretty quiet and I'm not throwing any codes, but imma change my set up to shorty headers and true duels with glass packs if it's to loud

Use a muffler, most engines like some back pressure. Especially efi engines.

Look at this guy getting comfy with efi now :-)
As short a muffler as possible though. Like a race muffler. Go headers, x-pipe, then duals out behind the tires. Muffle it if its too loud (it will probably get annoying eventually)

It's 95 with a 302. If I put a muffler on it I'm afraid it's gunna be too quiet. I want as loud as I can get with still being able to pass emissions

That means only a cat back system...so duals out of a race muffler, or straightpipes right out of the cat. In California at least, I'm pretty sure I have to have some sort of muffler under there, some attempt (however slight) to muffle the sound.

Will it be loud with the catback if it's just straightpiped? And here in tennessee all we need is a cat but I don't wanna screw up my engine

The muffler has nothing to do with emissions. Will it be loud without a muffler? Yeah, duh.

That's what a 302 sounds like with the first cat intact, the second gutted, 2 feet of 2 1/2" pipe then a 2 1/2" glasspack then nothing else.
