Post engine rebuild?

first off i own a '93 F-150 with the 5.0, E4OD, and 4x4. and i am currently in shop class this semester, and we are allowed to bring our own projects.
so seeing as how my truck has 387,754 km i was thinking maybe i would rebuild it. tell me what you think of my plans

- basic rebuild - new main, rod, and cam bearings, new gaskets all around(of course) bore .030 over for new pistons, new rings, new timing set, new lifters.
- thinking of possibly porting the heads and intake, adding longtube headers.

what do ya'll think? anything i missed that i should be doing?

i'm not an expert on this subject but have read enough to know it ain't cheap. best bet is to look at some of the other threads on this topic and then check out your local salvage yard and look for a donor vehicle to take everything out of. Mustangs seem to be a popular choice.

Wiring harness, computer, sensors, etc. from a '94-'95 F-series and Bronco 5.0 Automatic transmission equipped truck.

As far as the basic rebuild, your recipe looks good. I haven't looked into what I'd do to a 5.0, mines a 4.9.
