A fiberglass flip up hood with a 3" cowl and a wood deck bed would look cool on that truck

If you plan on getting rid of the smog pump, this would be a good time to do it - you'll actually be able to see where to thread in bolts in the back of the heads to block off the holes.

Timing Chain?

The Ford 4.9L is Gear to Gear, no chain.

You didn't notice he has a 4.9L

But, you are right about replacing the other parts though.

4.9 engine, while youre replacing the valve cover gasket, check push rods and retorque the rocker arm nuts. These have a tendancy to loosen after bout 100 thousand miles. Thats why you hear alot of ticking in the head. Retorquing these nuts quiet it down alot and smooth out the idle.
