Can't go wrong with the 5.8.. I've got plenty of power to pull anything I want and it's got PLENTY of get up and go power.. Just kills silverados

I like my 5.8. I can get up to 18 mpg on flat land with cruise on at 60-65 on the interstate. 70 to 75 no cruise and some hills I get 15-16 though. Mixed highway and city 13-14. But it has nice power, and pulls pretty good too. Pretty fun truck to merge on the interstate, not a rocket but enough to do 75 or 80 by merging time.

Most of the driving isn't city. Town is 15 miles from me. 10 miles across town, so 30 of 40 miles is at 45,55, or 70. And school is all rural driving.

What do you get? I have ext cab 4x4 with 150lbs of tools in the tool box, and I get that. I would expect you to do a little better lol. She runs good though.
