Hi i just bought my first truck today and i went with a Ford. It is a 96 straight 6 5 speed. I went to get an emissions test and it came up with secondary air pump and egr valve. Is this a normal problem and if so what parts of these systems should i look at first to fix? Also trans is hard to get into gear sometimes what trans fluid should i use to replace. The truck only has 127k.

 

I'd start by checking for vacuum leaks/ broken vacuum lines. The 5 speed manual takes Dextron/Mercon III automatic transmission fluid.
