Default Stock Speaker Sizes

Anyone know the speaker diameter/size in the doors of a 1990? Also, I didn't look while I was cleaning the interior earlier, but I don't know if my truck has speakers in the rear of the cab. If so, sizes on those? Please and thank you!

in my 1994 there were 6x9s in the back and 5x7s in the door. mind did not come with rear speakers either but that's because the previous owner kept his system.

Thank you sir. What kind of speakers did you go with, if any? My sound gets crappy as soon as I start to drive in mine, I'm thinking that might partly be wiring's fault and I could probably help that, but then the other part just wants new speakers and a new head unit...

well i have 2 100 watt 3 ways in the doors then the stock fords in the back along with the stock head unit and they sound nice the door speakers have some kick in them for what they are but I do plan on getting 4 way 200 watts for the rear and a mechless head unit so there's less to break i dont know much about subwoffers and amps other then don't ever mount the amp on the sub box stuff breaks quicker

Road noise isn't what's hurting the sound, the PO of the truck did a pretty... really ing ty job of wiring the aftermarket headunit they put in, it used to shut off from rattling disconnecting the wires with the bass up and volume up, got that out of the way, but it still sounds like crap. I'ma have to dig into the dash sometime this week. I was thinking of going all sony xplod headunit and speakers, and this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/DP-Audio-5...000.2/12347326 amp, and maybe two 8's for subs.

yeah that would be the harness he probably went old school and didn't buy a harness sonys good mine were some cheapo walmart ones 25 bucks for two there great for the price but 3 way or higher are the best of both worlds bass hits and the high pitch squeals come in great with the tweeters not bad if your into five finger death punch lamb of god. but rap i guess all you need is bass? for some dumb reason every kid has big boxes with 2 or 4 12 inch subs in there Honda's

I don't have room for 10s or 12s, forget that... I'm not too biased with my music, I listen to some rap but mostly stuff like Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi, not too much else. Mostly country and rock, and dubstep seems to speak to me. The speakers I'm looking at are 4 way, and 50 bucks for the 5x7 and the 6x9 are 57, the headunit is 95, and that amp was like 50? so this is definitely going to be a piece by piece project... I can handle old school wiring, but at least do it good... haha

EDIT: Bit of an audiophile... I've spent 50 bucks on headphones, if I ever knew I'd be spending that much on speakers, I'd have never bought them...

Hey, that's what wrapping your fingers in electrical tape is for! No joke, i screw with housing wires like that... One of my buddies has a 78 f150 that's battery wire was bad and was throwing sparks, I reached in to give the engine some gas from the throttle body, and a spark jumped up and bit me... that hurt enough on its own. I think I'm going to go with speakers first, since I already have an aftermarket headunit... albeit an old one. But yeah, I think I'm going to spring for a harness this time around unless I get it all sorted out and can remember how.
