Default egr blockoff plate

i just blocked off my egr some(left about a 1/2 inch hole)and i have more power with better gas miliage it seems...thats cool, been enjoying driving my truck i still have a little stutter every now and then, guess i will check plugs etc because it seems maybe electrical.i was just wondering if anyone else has blocked off their egr and how they like it..better gas miliage or what?i am wondering if i should have just blocked it off completely....its a 92 5.0 automatic kingcab.

do you better gas miliage?did you use a plate or just close off the pipe?i am curious as to where the exhuast gas goes when you block it off,if i had to guess i would say the tailpipe.....that is its forced back through?

It seems to get better mileage i just found a bolt that fit the hole on back of the valve welded it in there and grinded it even.

well flashing is slightly thicker than a tin can but i think its thick enough....tin should work i would guess...considering i have heard some peolple using balled up reynolds wrap to block the egr(in the tube i guess)
