but what is the 8.8 according to list i have a 3.55 limited and 3.55 no limited. i must be not understanfing something. and so the front diff is the same ratio as the rear then right.

8.8 is the AXLE size, the 3.55 is the gear ratio. and from what iv heard, take your truck for example, it has 3.55, iv heard that the front is 3.54, if thats true i dont know, im not heavy into the 4x4 stuff, i just know what dana is and that the gears have to be the same size.

oooohhh i see now. i get you. does the axel size change as the ratio changes. how do you confirm what axel size.

ill try finding a link that explains it all, but the 8.8 should have 10 bolts.

the 9.75 wasn't offered till 97 but it explains how you can tell you got a 8.8, which is by seeing if it has 10 bolts.
