Ok i got the axel code for my 87 f150. Says it is a h9 witch is witch is a3.55 limited slip. Is thAt a good one or would it be worth switching with anything else. Im gona get my dads and the parts truck later.

Ok the parts truck has a19 witch is a 3.55 non lm. Is it worth keeping or no. My sads also has a 19. My qestion is it worth keeping as a spare or sould i sell it. Do any if you now any good sites for looking up the vins. Id like to find the history. So should i keep it as a spare or are kinda bullet proof whitch i shouldnt have any probs. what woild it be worth. Thanks

3.55 limited and non limited slip is fine for anything you will do. you should only need to upgrade if you want bigger tires or just want more get up and go. iv pulled 5000lb with my f150 which has 3.55 non limited slip.


also, you should go to LMC truck and get a free catalog for your truck, the catalog has a vin decoder on like the 4th page.

this is a decoder iv used and it works great.

entire rear ends in my area that are in good shape range from as low as 150 bucks up to around 650-750. they almost never go out so id like to say just sell it, but you never know, i like to keep spares of every expensive part i can so i dont have it break down the road when im low on cash or something.

The gears are the same, but the front is most likely never limited slip. Also the rear is a ford 8.8 and the front is a dana 44 ttb in case that was what you were wondering

like stepside said, there almost never limited slip, and i believe some of them were different in one way or another from the rearend gears. but im not 100% sure.

Dana is it's own company. 8.8 is in f150s and f250s I believe. The 8.8 is made by ford.
