Question Differences between 1995 and 1996 models?

Hey guys I am looking at buying a 1996 4X4 to use for parts for my 1995 4X4. Just wandering if ALL the parts are interchageable or not? If I am correct, for some reason I think something changes between the two years.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

yeah everything that controls the engine changed, they went from OBD1 to OBD2 system

UNLESS you have an OBD2 1995 truck with MAF.

you have MAF OBD2 system if your intake tube looks like this

like he said^ 95% of the stuff can swap over. if your 95 is OBDII then 100% of stuff will switch over.

That's very interesting. Mine is a 95 with OBD1 and it has the dual inlet pipe, not like the one pictured above. Getting back to the original post, it's a transitional year regarding engine management (OBD) but 99% of the other parts should be the same.

do you mean there are 2 pipes going from the air box all the way to the throttle body? if so thats MAP.

Yes, 2 pipes from the throttle body to the air box. I assure you it does not have a MAP sensor, it has a Mass Air Flow. During the transitional year(s) things are different. I've had this truck since 1997 and 100% sure, just sprayed off the MAF sensor a while back.
