It will show through just might be a bit more greener blue then bright blue. There's Someone on here who just used blue LEDs and came out pretty nice color. It's not to hard to do, I've done mine and I love it looks great and goes with my interior much better then the green lol
Yeah well I did use the blue coated bulbs and I still have them in my cluster but they're nowhere near as bright as even the stock ones and they still look green. So will The blue LEDs be brighter than stock for sure?
Hey guys I need to get this thread going again to solve an issue I am having ordering bulbs.
On ebay I searched for 194 LED and get a lot of items. If I put in my truck information (95 F-150 XL 4.9) it always comes back that T10 bulbs won't fit my truck. That is against what I am reading here.
I am willing to buy T10 but there are several varieties of them as well. Some have domes caps, some round with flat tops, some with no tops, some that are flat faced and some raised. Will they all work?
Not sure what color to get, plan on a grey interior, any suggestions?
How many will I need to replace them all? Looks like packs of 10 are pretty common so may need to get two packs.
I had 194s. If you get them do not get cheap ones because I had problems with them fitting. They were too small to fit in the base and when I hit a bump the lights would go out. If I were you I wold get the blue ones because they do not require any scraping of film off the cluster.
From rockauto, the bulbs I replaced my dash and climate control with:
I think I counted 20 bulbs total with the 2 for climate control, I ordered 24 and had 4 extras. The length can be a little longer than the incandescent bulbs as there is some room left.

The ac panel is different material and I ruined my panels trying to remove the black part...
I did my gauge faces and a/c panel, the trick is not to scrape anything at all but rather use a Q-tip and some solvent to dissolve the colored layer, then it just rubs right off onto the Q-tip. I forget what I used, I'm pretty sure it was mineral spirits.
The gauge faces are a lot more forgiving than the a/c panel, but if you accidentally rub a bit too much and take some black off then just stick a tiny piece of electrical tape on the back to cover it back up.
Only thing to be aware of with this is that while the gauge faces will retain their white (numbers and letters) appearance during the day, the text on the a/c panel will become clear and harder to read when not lit during the day.
I don't have pics but I can take some. I swapped white LED's in.
