Default cylinder head problems

so i found a cylinder head for my truck off a 88 and it has holes over the exhaust that the head on my truck does not have. is there a difference in heads between 88 and 93? it is a 300 i6 motor

Yes, those are the air injection pipe holes. Some are on the exhaust manifolds instead. Six 1/4" NPT plugs will take care of them.
