There is little to nothing to program on a 96 PCM that wouldn't benefit any gain for that amount of money that a tuneup, ignition upgrade and timing bump wouldn't do for less then half that.
It's a Canadian thing eh!

If done with a timing light you can't screw it up, anyone can do it with just a simple step by step list. 14 degrees is the general safe number but some have pushed to 16 with no ill effect. Even if you did get a spark knock you just go back and turn it down.

Well you would make a great salesman sylver91. I am really considering doing this now. Now the problem is finding time to do it lol I'm all about using existing power and tweaking it to get even more. You just can't beat it. I will make a video before and after to show results. Might take awhile but I will do this. I heard the plugs had to be gapped at .55? Any reason how someone got that?
The plugs don't have to be gapped that much. I had a set with probably 80K miles on them that came out of the block gapped that much from heat and wear an it still ran reasonably well. The last set that I installed are gapped t .045. .055 will run without a miss, but i don't think your getting complete fuel burn.
