Default Cracked Block

I got the head back from the shop they found no cracks or any warp they looked at the gasket to and could not find any possible leaks. What are the odds of the block being cracked. Has anyone ever had a cracked block? keep in mind that the engine only has 102k

it is possible...I would pull the pan and look for the crack...it will have some crusty around it and milky oil...

Hopefully the steam you were seeing wasnt cold morning steam thats normal condensation...and actual anti-freeze in the exhaust...

if the block was cracked you would NOT have antifreeze in the exhaust...if you DO then it is getting in there some other way...intake maybe?

you should look for the water tracking in all the ports and find just where it is coming from...

You can't always see where the gasket blew.

It wasnt blowing a bunch of steam but enough where my dad said it smelt sweet and was more than the usual. Im sure its not the block but we'll see when i throw it back together. Still waiting on the dang ford dealership for the head gasket.

look in the Cylinders...the one using teh water will be the cleanest...

if you have to rub the piston top and smell or taste it...

you should have seen a green color of the plug of the cylinder using water too...

check the block deck for warpage with a straight edge and a feeler gauge. we have a prelude at the shop that blew a head gasket, so they replaced it. then it came back with another blown head gasket. so we took off the head and the checked the block. sure enough its warped.
