Default Core support brackets?!

I'm replacing my rusted out core support for a new one and doing this my core support brackets are rusted out also. Got new ones from bronco graveyard but they don't mount up the same way the old ones do. Anyone on here change them out on here, did you bolt or weld them on or both and how since they don't mount up the same??!

Could you maybe have ended up with the earlier version ? They changed the front of the frame in about 91 - 92 when they added crumple zones. I know the bumper mount brackets changed for sure.

You should have got some that look like the one in the picture ?
Checked LMC just cause I have it bookmarked - they show the same part for 80 to 96. If they sent you the right parts, you should be able to just grind off the rivets on the old ones and bolt on the new ones. Grade 8 bolts of course.

Don't think so, mine has the crumples but bronco grave yard says they fit 90-96 f150s

Went outside (all the way to the driveway) to take a look at my 95. No rivets on that one. Just some short tack welds - 4 per flange. I guess they're not a major stress point.

Yea. I cut mine off already. But the way the bracket sits on the crumbled part of the frame is weird

Seems to go right at the front edge of that bump.

Lousy picture, but maybe you can make it out. This one is welded all the way.
