Default Cooling System Question

I've been thinking about my truck a bit lately and after looking at the cooling system something doesnt seem right. Shouldn't there be an overflow tube that runs from the top fo the radiator to the overflow resivour? after looking at some diagrams for other ford trucks, vehicles in general, and doing some research they all had some sort of overflow tube that went back into the overflow tank.

There should be 2 tubes running to it, correct? One from the top of the radiator like below the cap and another one that runs from the bottom of the overflow somewhere. I'm gonna have to look at it again to see where it is supposed to go.
