Default cooling problem

hey i have a 1991 f150 lariat edition with a 5.0 efi and it seems the temp gauge for the coolant does seem to be working. ill drive the truck for about 30 minutes to be sure its hot or least enough for the needle to move a little and i get nothing. so far i have no leaks in the cooling system i replaced the temp sensor and thats it but i really dont want to have to pull the dash to see if its just the gauge in the cluster. otherwise i would just assume put an aftermarket one in maybe? i dont know what else it could be if its not the gauge itself in the dash. idk kind of stuck any advice appreciated. Drive ford til i die.

Did you change the one wire sensor or the two wire sensor? The one wire sensor is for the gauge. You can test the gauge by grounding the wire at the sending unit. Grounding the wire will send the gauge one way and not grounded it will go the other way.
