Default Common Issues

I think that I am going to get the 94 F150 4.9 I6 that I was looking at last weekend. I'll be looking it over this weekend when I get back. Are there any common issues/problems that occur on this year/model of the F150? What I mean is, on my Taurus, it was common for the Crank Angle Position Sensor (basically a distributor) to go bad and on my sisters ZX3 Focus, it was common for the thermostat housing to break where it attaches to the block.

Thanks
Steve

Fuel pump issues, rusted out gas tanks are 2 that come to mind.

fuel sending units going bad so the gas guage doesnt work, but the fuel is still delieverd, so just keep up with your milage or always have gas in one of the tanks.
The rust around the wheel wells.
cross filling with the dual gas tanks. That means a fuel pump has/is going out.
Headlight switch burning a hole in the plastic connector.
Computer going out.
Thats all i can think of at the moment.

^^^^ fuel pump issues.

Use a fuel pressure gauge to test start up pressure (engine off/key on), amount of time for pressure leak down and pressure while the engine is running. There's a schrader fitting near the firewall before the injector rails.
