Well it was only fourth gear. Yes, and no about it working alright now. I will actually give it a little bit of breakin in on tomorrow. I know that when I wrote this post, it was definately the fourth gear that wasn't engaging. I took the shifter out and removed an extra wavy washer that was either left in or broken from replacing my shifter bushings. My thought was that the extra washer gave too much rise to the shifter and not allowing it to use full torque in moving the gears. I don't know if it actually made sense or not. I started the truck and drove it around the block, but it was still not engaging into some of the gears. Then miraculously it went into all the gears, but I still had some grinding in the clutch. I had to put it in gear and back in neutral then back in gear again at times. SO as I said, I will try tomorrow and see what is up. I am still wondering whether or not I bled it fully or not. I may have to suck it up and get another tranny or get this one rebuilt.

Is it possible to replace the fork with this method without having to drop the tranny also? I'm a cheap guy and just dropped $500 on the clutch to be replaced 11 days ago and dont feel like dropping another $500 for a mechanic to drop the tranny and replace the fork(s).
The pin he is speaking of is the pin that holds the shift fork to the shaft. You can check the pin or replace the fork with the method I said without removing the transmission. You might not have to remove the seat if you can get the carpet far enough out of the way.

Take the shifter all the way out. Even the short part that is inside the tranny.

Str8dogg, I mentioned the syncros in your thread which is what I think is your problem. I can get you a picture of what you need to look at if you like, just let me know.

Yes Sean, pics always help! Besides I am visual by nature and would like to see what I am looking for or at if possible. I drove the truck this morning, and still the same problem. The gears seem fine when the engine isn't on, but once on, I am fighting trying to get her in/out of gear. This is upsetting becasue I could have saved up and gotten another tranny if the problem had've shown BEFORE the replacements.
