Default Check engine light

Last couple days my light comes on then turns off. If I get on the gas pretty good it will do it too. Any Ideas?

My 89 will do that too, but i figured out if I leave the truck warm up it does not come on. It only seems to be the motor is cold. Also it never did it in the summer, but it did do it last winter and has started doing it again this winter too. Maybe something to do with the temps. Maybe an intake leak?

I was kind of fig the same thing. Equus 3145 Ford Digital Code Reader. thinking of trying this to see. Does the truck store the codes?

I am not sure if it stores the code or not. I have not checked, I just let the truck warm up good and drive it, so the light does not come on. But I would love to figure out the exact problem

it should store a code anytime that light comes on, id buy the scanner even if there isnt a code because it will come in handy down the road.

Use a paperclip or piece of wire. I don't see why people buy code readers when you can do it for free.

because its only $30 and i dont have to figure out (with the possibility of messing up the numbers) the numbers, it just tells me lol.

in short, its only $30 and it makes the job alot simpler.

Counting is elementary school stuff. If you can drive a car you should be able to count.
