you need to set them properly...I can tell you simply how to do it...
Make's sense to me. Personally, I'm all ears!

I'm not sure, I've been workin on this truck for 2 years and have done quite a few things. Some of them at your suggestion. I remeber the IAC being brought up before but nothing in great detail. What type of malfuntions or symptoms should I look for in the IAC.

A faulty IAC will cause the idle to increase and decrease just like you describe. Sometimes they can be cleaned with carb cleaner. Others have said replacing the TPS fixed their idle issues. It can be tested with a voltmeter. Checking for codes helps, I don't recall if you did that.

Hi guys just got my truck I'm new to the forum at the 1980 Ford F 150 Ranger and it's kind of 351 in it and when I bought it from the guy he said the carburetor needed to be adjusted it has a hard time starting in the cold that gotta sit there and pump the throttle to keep it started and then once a kind of catches a warm up but it has no ***** whatsoever now it has true duals but the guy drop them off right before the muffler so I don't know if its a back pressure issue or the carb or just needs a tune up but I'm never adjusted the stock carbs on these fords before

Wrong forum for your year, and completely unrelated to this original post from 2010 (although the title is right i guess). Head over to the classic corner forum and I'm sure someone will help you out.
