Default Break light issue.

So when i press on the breaks there is no sign of them lighting up. My hazards in the rear don't work as well, driver side blinker works but passenger wont. Thinking bad ground or something along that. Any ideas??

When you stomp on a light bulb, it breaks. When you want to slow a vehicle, use the brakes.

You can't "think" what's wrong with a vehicle. You have to learn how it's supposed to work, and then diagnose why that's not happening. Your descriptions are vague. What signs of them lighting up were you expecting? Do the front hazards work? Do they work on the dash? Does the RHR turn signal work?

The front hazards are working yes and the rear driver side blinker is also working. It wont show on the dash without a bit of pressure. Even if i don't apply the bit of downward pressure the blinker works, turning right will show on dash and work on the front only. The rear passenger blinker doesn't work and neither do the rear hazard. Running lights are good when turned on tho passenger side is a bit dim. My father said just replace the break switch and work your way up. Took a look at the fuse box and saw a 40 amp instead of a 15 haven't had the truck long and guessing previous owner kept on getting blown fuse and went with the redneck fix of putting a larger fuse.

So is this a RHD vehicle? Because I expected the driver to be on the left, but that would make those statements contradictory. What vehicle are you talking about, anyway? Put all its details into your signature as this page explains:

Suggest to check the brake light switch at the brake pedal - that it's in position and opens & closes the circuit properly.

Had a problem with my rear lights - don't recall the details of what worked and what didn't, but found the harness connectors near the center of the rear bumper lost their do-right, and needed some cleaning and some duct-taping to hold together.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Tested the switch with my 12v circuit tester seems to be fine. Next look is the steering column assembly. The wiring job from previous owner is shotty at best could be something out of my ability to handle. The wiring doesn't seem to match the diagram i was using so either the diagram is off or its **** poor wiring from a mechanic to work around another issue. The ac fuse is melted and in disarray and cant imagine what behind the fuse box looks like.
