Default Brake Lights

I am having a problem with the brake lights on my 1991 f150...the brake lights on the truck seem to burn a fuse after you use the brakes 5-7 times and i have replaced the wiring and nothing seems to work...I have removed the wiring all the way up to the fender where it goes into electrical tape and it still blows a fuse...but when i remove the wire coming off the switch it doesnt blow...but it does when its connected...ill look closer and see wat i can find

May sound stupid, but check fuse size.

Did you check for any wires hanging around the pedal possibly shorting it?

ya i did check some wires around the pedal...it is all covered until you get to the big set of wires and i dont have any idea where to look really cause i cant seem to find the brake light wire under the dash cause it gos into the center of the wires and its gone after that...though it must be shorting some where

Have you changed the brake pedal switch? They're cheap, both in price and quality.

I had a Taurus with the same brake pedal switch. For some reason I never figured out the wire out would get very hot and melt the switch, but didn't blow the fuse. When I put on the 3rd switch I wired in a relay and no more melting switches.
