Default Body Work

Wanting to do some body work on my 94... Salt covered roads in the winter have done a job. How difficult is it to put new box sides on? How do you remove the old ones? I am new to body work, feel that I am fully capable, just have to be patient and know that a learning curve will be involved. The front fenders shouldnt be hard but not sure on the box sides. Also, where is the best place to buy new fenders and box sides? I see lmctruck.com has them, but are they any good? Can you still buy new ones from Ford? if so probably very expensive. What are my options?
rust and salt!!

i don't recommend doing it yourself if you want it to come out looking good if your new to the body work area.

you will have to cut off the old and weld on the new bed side so you will know how to weld and good also good at sanding and painting otherwise its going to be crappy looking it might be easier to get a brand new bed and swap them over.

Well I do have a friend who does body work that Im sure for a price would help out. Just not sure where to buy new body parts from.. would like to put brand new on. I suppose a whole new box would work, but not sure where to find one that doesnt have the same problem, or how much they would cost.

you can always just pop rivet something on and smooth it over with some bondo just to pass for a sticker. my rear bed is rusted and i have a short bed single tank they are hard to come by in my parts. Im taking a welding course at the local adult ed and i have done body work before so i know what will be involved with a big sheet of metal like that and if you do it wrong its totally noticeable.

as far as new boxes down south is the best bet and around 1000 bucks shipped up from Arizona to Maine.
for about 350 bucks off of lmc truck you can get an entire replacement panel for the rear bed. as for my truck bed its cheaper to get a new bed from down south i have 2 cross members rusted out bad.

Dont need to worry about a sticker around here, just wanting to get it looking better. Anything would look better than rust. LOL
