I got a pertronix 60K coil, MSD Superconductor wire (Expensive but worth it), brass cap & rotor, the motorcraft stock plugs stock plugs (for sidegapping w/ timing bump, they run cooler being copper cores), and a K&N drop in for $210 (knew the manager). Summit has an ignition upgrade for about $140. I usually do the Seafoam three-way (Air Intake Manafold/crankcase/fuel tank) about a week before I change my oil. If your not changing your oil for a while, just go w/ the AIM & gas tank. A small amount will get by the rings anyway. Heres 3 links. Seafoam:

Re: Ign. upgrade, once you install the HV coil you have to have the bullet proof cap, rotor & wires. It will eat stock cap & rotors and your spark pulses will tend to wander w/o the upgraded wires (they might even take 'you" for a ride. If you haven't cried since you were kid, This will be your chance to catch up. I'd rate it worse than a momentary 220v grounding. If your hands are sweating, leather gloves won't help much. I've never grounded myself w/ the MSD Low Resistance Superconductors). On the sidegap, I do prefer it at .054 gap, to just a stretched stock plug to .056. The difference is a slight angle change in the spark kernel projection. The kernel flares more. If you experience a miss, bring your gap back .002. I think I noticed more of a mpg benefit than performance. But not at a cost in performance. Surprisingly this set up runs alot cooler than a X2 Plat plug at .044. Not that surprising ,if you do your homework. Basically your trading intensity (and temperature) for Kernel exposure. CAI kits on a MAP engine tend to be problematic as they tend to lean out the engine that is already running at a 14.68:1 air to fuel ratio (this is what your 02 sensor is doing for better or worse). But they can work safely on a MAF engine, although there is a standing argument as to the definition of "Cold". "Increased Air Induction kit " might be more accurate, leaving temperature claims out of it.

Just to confirm.... your getting 18/23 only with the mods you have listed?
You have no headers or aftermarket exhaust?
Wife is trying to make me sell the f150 cause I am only getting 14 or less MPG....

When my original Cats went bad, I went w/ one single Cat hi capacity (as EPA allows on F-150's). I believe at the union of the Y, the pipe size went to 3 in. There was an immediate improvement but at the time, all I had to compare to were my partially restricted Cats. In the grand scheme of improvement of MPG, I'd save that for last. If your o2 sensors are ageing, even if they are functional, they gradually lose accuracy & switching speed. It depends entirely on the vehicle and driving behavior but personally 60K miles is about as far as I'll run them. Running higher octanes in a stock engine will really **** them of. I also pull mine when I change my oil (I'm under there anyway), and douche it w/ electronic contact cleaner. The base timing bump and the gap stretch is the biggest MPG increaser. You can bump your timing w/o the ignition upgrade, but you can't stretch the gap safely. 13-16 BTDC is your comfort range. If you experience Ping retard 2 degrees. One thing to remember is that fuel trim doesn't occur until operating temperature is reached (and a properly functioning ECT sensor denotes the event. So if your only making short trips where your not reaching normal operating temperature, your only going to get 11 or so MPG as your running in an over rich warm up cycle.
