but is the 347 capable of being a reliable daily driver? i never knew anyone who had one but when i was doing some research a few months back i read on a few different sites how the 347's were not good as dd's because of the location of the rod pin holes in the rings. that it would cause advanced wear and oil issues and such. when i rebuild mine i would love to have the 20 extra cubes, but not if i'm going to have to rebuild the motor every couple of years because of it. but if you think it would be a reliable dd, i would definitely consider the 347 then

The only time ive heard of that issue with the 347s is when people go buck wild with them, and its usually in the top end because of the higher lift cams and roller rockers and etc, there aint enough oil going to them to keep them lubricated. But if you just go with an R.V. cam or along that line you should be just fine, just make sure you go with the high volume oil pump and such things. Goodluck, bc i love my 331 in my 95 4x2
