Question belt troubles

the otherday my belt decided to fall apart 40 miles away from home 1 of the 5 rows fell off complety it was smacking the fan blades as it went. while i was driving home i noticed a few times my rmps went up by about 100 more then it usualy is could a frayed belt cause that? it went up a few times but it wold go back down to normal.

damn well did it make the RMPS go higher at idle?

if you need a belt i have one with 4 rows still if you want it lol

crap... something else is wrong with my truck then. unless its the EGR or the fact i had an oil leak.

Oh yeah you just worked on it. Must have messed it up.

If you had the battery disconnected then it might run a little weird for a little bit while the computer relearns.

alt or pwr steer pump slipping would have less drag and make rpms go up a little.
