battery problems
im having problems with system drawing to much power. i was at the store an my truck wouldnt crank. so a friend and tried to jump it off an got nothin. so i pulled the battery an got it tested. bad battery. they told me to check my alternator. it tested good but the bearings are shot. the guy at the parts store said if im runnin a big amp i need to get another battery or a capacitor. would it help my problem??

Not knowing what load you are drawing but if you've added a bunch of junk to the normal Ford system then yes need a bigger battery. Batteries supply the power, the alternators replenish the power consumed when operating at cruising speeds. Other articles on here about capacitors, good and bad. Try the search button.
I guess my answer would be yes and no. As I said earlier, the battery supplies all the power, so if engine is off or idling, the alternator is of no help. Now while driving at a good speed the alternator is replenishing the energy consumed. You need a great big battery and it would be good to charge it up faster, (bigger alternator). To put it another way, a motor cycle battery or a PWC battery will start your engine but thats all. Then the alternator will recharge the battery and furnish the power for ignition.
when i got the alternator tested it passed but they said the bearings are bad. tomorrow im going to call a local shop an see how much to rebuild an up the amps on it. i gotta have my boom boom back!!
i'm guessing by big amp you mean big amplifier correct? if so a capacitor will just give you deeper bass, it just stores energy for a harder hit of the sub. as long as your alternator is fine, you need a high capacity (deep cycle) battery, like an optima yellow top. your system is just using to much juice from the battery.

well, i'm not sure wha your cousin had it in but your trucks probably not putting out the same amount of amperage to replenish the battery or your truck just doesn't have the capacity in the battery, age can play a part in the capacity
