The floor switch is much better than the turn signal mount. You don't have to reach for anything. It's safer when on a winding backroad where you usually use you high beam switch. Of course that's with an automatic. With a manual you can either clutch or switch the light. Probably why they changed it. But I've never seen one broken either.
