If you only need the engine to last another few month until you buy another truck, go for it. Otherwise, if you want this thing to last for years to come, just fix the problem the right way and you will be much better off both mechanically and financially down the road. That goes for anything; regular maintenance included. I don't personally know anybody who has ever tried to use something labeled "stop-leak" and had the thing a year down the road. Random stuff starts breaking and they call it a money pit and unload it swearing the vehicle is just a piece of junk. Treat it well, and it will treat you well. Just my two cents...

Joshtowal, I agree, My read on this thread was a temp fix until time was available to do a proper repair. With that said, I advised using black pepper because I know it will stop minor leaks and flush out of the system. My two cents...

I haven't heard about the black pepper deal, so I can't say anything about it. My comment was more directed at the miracle in a can. lol

I have used the fine ground black pepper in demolition cars helps with the smaller leaks and can get you by in a jam. But I am also a firm believer in fixing right the first time and then it's done no more headaches
