Another mpg thread
So I got a 1992 f150 4 wheel drive extended cab long bed with a 302 a 5 speed Manuel transmission and 4.10 gears with 33/12.50/r15 tires and my question is what is the normal mpg for that set up I am at 8.5 mpg and it seems l should be getting a lot more? Maybe something isn't working right? Idk I would appreciate your input

And also I try to baby it as best as I can low rpms like shift from 1st at 15mph shift from 2nd at 25mph and shift from 3rd at 45 and shift from 4th at 60 then 5th anything higher maybe I am babying it too much? Hahah
your never going to get good gas mileage, 10-15 mile trip isnt even enough to really warm the engine up,
I can drive 20 miles or more before my e-fan will kick on.
you might be able to replace everything on your ignition system( plugs, wires, diizzy parts) clean/replace you IAC, air filter, get new CATS on the exhaust, run a few tanks of sea foam in it to gain a few MPG's but I dont see you getting better than 10-12.
also pull off the 33's go back to factory.
