Alternator out?
you would know if your alt went out. one your light would be on. second you would be on stricky battery power. so unless you shut it off within a few minutes of the alt going out. you prolly just have a bad battery. dead cell in it

thanks, I think my untuned 1500 watt amp is draining more juice than the alt can handle so I will tame it down and charge the battery and see what happens

sean, it reads about the N on normal and when I rev it goes to O on normal....any ideas and there is some unusual smell under the hood too.. is the gauge wire running from my alt to small? its starting to melt the plastic covering on the wire

It starts barely and runs but yeah it is the voltage meter that is reading "N" on normal at idle and when I rev it goes to "O". and it is the black/orange wire that is melting i think but is that white wire in that same cluster?
Thanks
Thanks
