Default Alignment

Greetings everyone!

I have a 95 f-150 x-cab 4x4.
Was wundering if there was a way to do an alignment at home.
I have heard varying answers on how to do it, but wanted to hear from people that actually own ford trucks!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx, Langer95 XLT

Use a tape measure, measure the front and back of the tires, about half way up, say one groove in, see the difference, you want a straight up measurement, or about 1\8" is ok, set it, drive it, and measure again. I do mine all the time and my tires wear great.

that way is fine for a toe in and toe out adjustment. but fords dont have a toe problem they have a caster and camber problem, and that can only really be fixed on a machine. that way they know which of the multitude of adjustment shims to put in it. ( and it still wont ride right after a while)

this was fords biggest flaw with the TTB . and there is no real fix for it.

and most shops that offer lifetime alignment deals, they wont give that to you with a TTB.

Truck nut there is a real fix for it.... throw that ttb out the window!!! Dana 44 solid axle you have cheaper replacement parts you can get lifetime alignment and when you lift it or springs or whatever you will be happy to save each time with the lifetime align IMO

Where do you find a. D44 solid axle with the same gearing? Is there any trucks that came stock with it, to do a swap?

yep 70's ford f150 trucks. it isnt a complet bolt on swap but it is pretty easy to do if you have all the parts when you start.

Thanks for all the great replies! The dana 44 suggestion was brilliant and the red neck alignment worked like a charm! I am a little confused though. I did not think caster was adjustable on my 95 gem!

Caster is, camber isn't. Without putting in different camber bushings that is...
