Default Adding power mirrors?

I would like to add power mirrors on my '92 F-150. I had the door panel off to replace the window regulator gear and plugs. I did not see the required wiring in the loom . I had an extra control switch from a junkyard and had seen the new mirrors on eBay for around $50. Has anyone converted one of these trucks over from manuals to electric? I would have thought the wiring was already in place but apparently its not.

Thank You.

yeah im sure there is no wiring for power mirrors on all trucks considering its an option. same with the windows and locks. there might be a way to get the harness from the fues box to the doors but thats going to be a bitch to get out and rewire into your truck. I almost want to say theres a plug in the kick panel for the doors but not sure on that.

Thanks guys. Thats what I was afraid of. Looks like I may have to do some more junkyarding. If I can find a truck with most of the dash arleady removed then maybe half the battle will be over?

Yeah if you can find an identical truck (same motor tranny year ect) with power mirrors and such you can check that out and take pictures or even buy that harness

There was a topic recently about adding F250 mirrors to the F150. On the newer 250, the mirrors are actually run through the computer according to the post. Not sure about earlier F150's, but I'd assume that you could pull the control switch and the mirrors, again, assuming that the mirror motors are inside the mirrors and build your own wiring harness for power. If it's not tied to the computer, it shouldn't be a major job. You'll need the door panels too unless your going to cut and paste the switch into your xl door panels.

power mirriors on 8th and 9th gen trucks do not run through the computer. just a fues on the panel supplys the power to the mulit switch.

you can make a wiring harness its not to tough just time consuming running the wires.

you need to pull the dash to add power mirrors, there is a harness that runs between the doors along the firewall just below the windshield. then you just need the mirrors, new switch panel for the drivers side and switch.

if your good at sourcing parts, less then $75 (mirrors will be hard to find cheap)
