Default ABS light

Hey, you guys remember the time I thought I had found all the things wrong with the truck and just needed to fix them?

The truck did something new today. I ran some errands. The truck had been sitting turned off for maybe an hour when I came back out and started her up. I noticed the ABS light and parking brake light were both on. The parking brake was not engaged. The brakes felt and performed completely normally. I engaged the parking brake and released it a couple times, didn't help. It is raining and about 35 degrees if that matters. Any thoughts? Is it safe to drive the truck?

Second post I've seen like today from 2 different people, I'll give the same advice here. Check your brake fluid level. I got low one day (leaky wheel cylinder, whatever for now), anyways, when it got low the brakes still worked normal, but the E-brake light and rear antilock lights came on. Top off the fluid and see what happens, solved my issue

Sounds like the ABS sensor got wet or went out altogether, the ABS on my truck doesn't seem to do much so it's not a great loss. But the lights would annoy me, I'd have to fix it!

I actually had a 94 (I think it was) explorer who's ABS light woukd come on once I hit the brakes the forst time once my rear shoes were worn. It would also make a small thud and suddenly drop in the ledal like 1/4 or 1/8 inch. Immediatly the light came on. I changed the rear shoes and never had a lick of trouble out of it after that so yeah check fluid and brakes themselves.

-sounds like your sensor connection could have been compromised and frozen on top of the diff...
-fluid low(like the man above said)...
-check your ebrake light sensor(on the very top of your Ebrake unit)
-lastly check the wiring for the ABS sensor for splices or splits.

If you're lucky it's just a wheel cylinder in the back. That's where mine is

I'm hoping it's not the new caliper I put on the front in the fall... that would be frustrating
