Since installing LEDs in my tail lights this afternoon i was driving to work tonight and noticed the abs light come on along with the transmission shifting different than usual and without overdrive. Also the tail lights light up when the key is in the ignition spot. I am wondering if the lights are causing the issue and if maybe i need inline resistors

 

Change them back and see if your problems goes away. Yeah most of the LED bulbs for our trucks need the resistor for them to work right.
I don't see that causing the transmission problems unless you blowed a fuse.

 

I guess ill have try that. For the record they're not replacement bulbs, they're 6" oval truck/trailer lights in the stock housing

 

Is your brake fluid low? I know my truck will turn on the ABS and e brake lights when the fluid gets low

 

No i checked that it was at normal level

Yeah, what this guy said. Plus clean the VSS. It is a sensor in your rear axle that has a magnetic pick up. As your gears create flakes, it will collect on the pick up and give your computer false readings.

 

How does the vss come out and how do you clean it. Also i wired the old lights back up and it went back to normal
